Nana Aba Duncan

Founder and Director of Public Relations

Energetic and clever, Nana Aba knows how to use the right words to present a good idea. As Founder and Director of Public Relations of Estuary Public Relations, she draws on her expertise in communicating and experience in media relations. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Masters degree in Journalism, earning the $19,000 International Journalism Award. In Ghana she co-created and produced In Focus, a weekly Saturday morning show for Radio Gold. As National Director for Journalists for Human Rights, a non-governmental organisation, Nana Aba managed a nine-member editorial team, liaised with media and planned events in Ghana. She continued her public relations work in Canada for small businesses and major Canadian development companies. As Associate Publisher with the Women's Post newspaper, Nana Aba initiated and executed successful marketing strategies. She holds an honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto.

Nana Aba performs with a West African dance company. Born in Ghana, she is a strong supporter of the African community and has hosted several cultural shows in Toronto. Nana Aba loves peanut butter and sometimes forgets where her keys are. She lives in Toronto.

Liza Miller

Liza is an organised, creatively brilliant woman with a proven record of turning ideas into events that get noticed. She spearheaded the public relations and marketing campaign for Millhouse Company. Her public relations initiatives helped launch Port of Spain, the 2007 album of top Trinidadian soca artist Mr. Slaughter. Liza is presently working with Aya Vision (an independent production company) on its current project, SPEAK!, a spoken word television programme. Other projects involve public relations campaigns for KAJ Designs, a Tobagonian fashion design label as well as soca artist Blazer and prolific rapso artist Brother Resistance. She is also continuously working with 12 The Band to coordinate its concert productions - most recently Get Up 2 held on Dec 30, 2006 at Tattoo Farm, Trinidad.

As Director of Public Relations for Estuary Public Relations, Liza brings expertise in event and artist management and strong experience in business administration. Her first concert production was VIBE at the University of Toronto, Canada in 2002, which featured some of the Toronto's finest artists including K-os, Motion, Divine Brown, Subliminal and Jean Paul. In 2005, Liza launched her entertainment management company Onenessintruth Promotions Limited in Trinidad & Tobago. She enjoyed success with the creation and production of The Groovin' Series, Tobago's premier live music concert series, which featured artists including Mungal Patasar & Pantar, Ken “Professor” Philmore & Friends and the Signal Hill Alumni Choir. While producing the series and managing various artists Liza gained substantial knowledge of media relations in Trinidad & Tobago. She holds a postgraduate diploma with distinction in the Arts and Cultural Enterprise Management (ACEM) programme from the Centre for Creative and Festival Arts at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad, and will be the 2007/2008 lecturer for the Marketing and Promotion in the Arts course. She also studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto.

Liza's love for creativity and coordination has expanded her professional sphere. She is now managing Trinidadian DJ group Revelation Sound and produces its internet radio programmes Revelation Sundays, Vision Mondays and Take Over Tuesdays on Mental Radio at Lion Twin Studio in Trinidad.

Liza trained for 13 years in classical ballet and the modern dance techniques of Alvin Ailey and Martha Graham. She lives in Trinidad with her two-year-old daughter Tsahai.
